Rolling mill project

The Italian rolling mill manufacturer Mino, of Alessandria, asked us to design their machines' body. For this company we also designed the renovation of the factory building, necessary after serious floodings had dameged its exterior.

The project in question was for both hot and cold rolling mills of large size, for steel and aluminium, therefore issues about work safety as well as functionality had to be taken into account.

Elements of the rolling mill

In the project we intended to clearly differentiate the main parts by giving them an aesthetic value, strictly related to the function: this can immediately be perceived through volumes of colors or materials:

grey is for the rolling group
red is for aspiration chimneys and work areas
grids delimit passageways.
